ADAS calibration — covered by SGI
If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera (most 2018+ models), your windshield replacement needs ADAS calibration.
What is ADAS calibration?
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. After a windshield replacement, the camera behind your glass has to be recalibrated so these features work properly. We do it in-house — no trip to the dealer.
What it costs if you pay out of pocket
Done on its own, ADAS calibration typically costs $300–$500. When you go through an SGI glass claim, calibration is included as part of your windshield replacement at no extra cost to you.

How do I know if I should claim or pay out of pocket?
For windshields with a package policy ($50–$100 deductible), claiming almost always makes sense. For door or side glass where the cost may be under $700, paying directly is often cheaper. Not sure? Start either path or call us — we’ll give you an honest answer.
Do I need to call SGI before coming to you?
For windshield damage, no — we file directly with SGI on your behalf. For back glass, SGI requires a claim first, and we’ll walk you through it.
Can I just pay out of pocket?
Yes. For stone chips, door glass, or when your deductible is more than the repair, we’ll give you a direct cash quote.
Will a glass claim affect my insurance rates?

How long does it take to replace my windshield?
Basic replacements typically take 2 to 3 hours. Windshields with cameras or sensors may take the full day so the calibration is done properly.

How do I know if I need a repair or a replacement?
If the damage is smaller than a loonie and not in your direct line of sight, it can usually be repaired. Larger cracks, or damage near the edge of the windshield, usually need a full replacement.

How do I care for my new windshield?
Avoid washing your car for 24 hours so the adhesive fully cures, don’t slam the doors, and take it easy on bumpy roads for a few days while the glass settles.
