We file directly for you
You deal with the same local team the whole way through, not a call centre
We’re local, so you’re not paying for a big chain’s head office
Call us, fill out our online form, or text us a photo. We need your registration info (customer number and plate number) and the date the damage happened. It takes about a minute.
We contact SGI, confirm your policy type and exact deductible, and tell you what you’ll pay before any work starts. No surprises.
Come in for your appointment, pay only your deductible, and drive away with a new windshield. We file the claim and bill SGI for the rest.
It depends on your coverage.
The most common coverage in Saskatchewan. We confirm your deductible in minutes and handle the whole claim β you never have to call SGI.
On 2018+ vehicles, replacement plus ADAS calibration often costs more than $700, so a claim is usually worth it. On older vehicles, cash may cost about the same β we’ll tell you honestly.
Sandbox, CAA, Co-operators and others cover the gap between your deductible and SGI’s $700. Some need a claim number first, so check with your provider, then call us.
For standard vehicles. With ADAS calibration on 2018+ vehicles, the total can reach $550β$1,400+. We’ll give you a fast, competitive cash quote.
One of the biggest reasons drivers put off a glass claim is worrying that their premiums will go up. They won’t.
SGI’s Safe Driver Recognition program only penalizes at-fault collisions and traffic convictions. A windshield hit by a rock on the highway is a road hazard, not an at-fault incident. Filing a glass claim doesn’t affect your safety rating, your premiums, or your driving record.
If your vehicle was built in 2018 or later, it likely has Advanced Driver Assistance Systems β lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, or forward collision alerts. These rely on cameras and sensors at the windshield.
After a replacement, those sensors must be recalibrated. Done separately, calibration adds $300β$500 or more β one reason a claim often makes sense even with a $700 deductible. At Mike’s, calibration is done in-house and included with every windshield replacement on equipped vehicles. Through SGI, it’s covered as part of your claim.
Can’t make it during the day? Drop your keys in our key drop the night before, and we’ll get started first thing.
Most replacements take about 3 hours, so we recommend dropping your vehicle off. If you’d rather stay, we have a waiting area.
Most windshields are replaced the same day you call. Vehicles with cameras or sensors may need the full day for calibration.
Not all windshield damage needs a full replacement. Small stone chips can often be repaired quickly β and with an SGI package policy, chip repairs are free (up to 3 a year).
You’ll need a full replacement when:
